What is Piriton Allergy Tablets?
Piriton has been providing fast and effective allergy relief for over 65 years.
Fast acting relief from symptoms including runny nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, itchy skin. Treats skin itchiness, redness, swelling, tenderness, and irritation that may be caused by allergies. For example, hay fever, pet, dust mite and mould spore, food, nettle rash and hives, skin allergies and dermatitis, prickly heat and heat rash, bites and stings, itchy rash of chickenpox.
What are the active ingredients?
Each tablet contains 4mg of active ingredient Chlorphenamine Maleate. Other ingredients include lactose, maize starch, yellow iron oxide E 172, magnesium stearate and water. How to use Piriton Allergy Tablets
Oral use only.
- Children under 12 months: not recommended.
- Children aged 6-12 years: Give half a tablet every 4 to 6 hours. Do not give more than 6 half tablets in 24 hours.
- Adults and children over 12 years: Take one tablet every 4 to 6 hours. Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.
- Elderly: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you take this medicine as you may be more likely to get side effects including confusion and you may need to take a lower daily dose.
- Maximum daily dose: 3 tablets 12 mg in any 24 hours.
Precautions to consider before taking Piriton Allergy Tablets
May cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcoholic drink. If symptoms persist consult your doctor. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
